Dr. Lewis is a licensed Counseling Psychologist and Licensed Addiction Counselor specializing in the treatment and prevention of eating disorders, addictions and co-morbid conditions, such as mood disorders. She brings a empathic and joyful energy to her clients and offers individual, family and couples therapy.  She enjoys working with clients to improve self-worth, identify and reduce shame barriers and understand core emotional states that impact how they interact in their world.

Dr. Lewis is motivated to help people connect and learn how to spot their emotional triggers. Her counseling strategy is to listen nonjudgmentally and offer guidance and education throughout the counseling process. She is passionate about helping families and individuals learn how to spot their own barriers and communicate their emotions in an adaptive manner to those they love, fostering deeper connection in relationships,

She will work with clients to develop an individualized treatment plan that is focused on meeting their own needs in a manner that is adaptive for their life. Dr. Lewis has extensive training in diagnosis and assessment, offering insight into additional treatment concerns that may be impacting the treatment process.   

Dr. Lewis earned her Doctorate in Philosophy of Counseling Psychology (PhD) from Indiana State University where she graduated with honors and a full scholarship to complete her degree. She earned her Master’s of Science (MS) and Educational Specialty (EdS) degrees in Counseling Psychology with honors from Indiana University, working closely with Alan Bell, PhD, as a research assistant for his work on factors impacting relationship solidarity. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in psychology degree from University of Southern Indiana, graduating in 2 years with honors while working as a residential coordinator for the local Youth Shelter, working with at-risk youth and displaced teens.

Prior to opening private practice, Dr. Lewis worked at an eating disorder treatment center where she developed and conducted an Eating Disorders IOP and performed individual and group therapy.  She also provided professional training, public speaking and community outreach on body image, addictions and eating disordered behaviors. In addition, she has extensive training and background in community mental health, serving in several positions and training other therapists in group and individual treatment for addictions, parenting, family systems, crisis management, psychological assessment, court evaluations and eating disorders. Dr. Lewis has received training in Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Imago Relationship Therapy, Somatic Embodiment, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brainspotting, and is a Certified Daring Way Facilitator. She also is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC). She uses these diverse strategies and unique focus to guide in the healing journey.
